    About

Neckwarmer, a compact substitute for scarf: warm, fits into handbag or pocket, not bulky under the tailored coat. To wear: double fold in the top part.

2 skeins (7 oz. total weight), 12" long. Approximately 2 days of work.

    Knitting: top-down.
Started knitting at the top with double-pointed needles, US size 8, 80 stitches, 1x1. Continued with circular needles of the same size at the bottom, when more stitches were added.
To increase circumference at the bottom: after 2 "neck lengths", added 1 stitch per every 2 stitches, after 5-7 rows, added one more stitch per every 3 stitches.

The color of charcoal yarn is much prettier than on the photo. It is more of the "pigeon wing gray-blue" color rather than charcoal. Very beautiful shade, yarn is soft and not itchy.

The dye is not very colorfast - stayed on hands after knitting. Recommend washing the finished item before wearing. My impression is that one washing would suffice. Dries well and quick.

    Yarns

    Needles & Hooks

    • Double Point 5.00mm (US 8) 20cm
    • Circular 5.00mm (US 8) 80cm

    Accessories

Other : Used basic garment safety pin to mark beginning of the row. Not a necessary accessory, still convenient to keep track.

    Measurements

Notes: Fit was as intended. Depending on the size of the person, the length and the circumference could be easily modified.
12" is a convenient length. Longer would be too much. Shorter would work too.
