I had the same problem! It was a complete nightmare. I even tried getting in touch with Lion Brand - but I was still confused and am not sure I’ve got it completely right (although I think my gauge was a bit off, which didn’t help). The way I did it was to fold along the slipped stitch line so that it forms the edge of the collar (I think you can see this from the photo) and then somehow join the ends at the back. The roll at the back of the neck is super thick. It makes for a very warm, slouchy cardigan, but it’s definitely not my best work. I suggested to Lion that they label the diagram to help us work out which ends attach to which. Apologies for the long answer. I hope this helps!
