Hi Lunasa I am having trouble understanding a part in the pattern and wondering what you did. The pattern says "knit to next stitch and loop across st, p1. What does loop across stitch mean?

Hi. I didn't do this part of the pattern. Instead I did k1, p1. On the k1, I knitted into the back of the stitch instead of the usual needle into front of the k stitch. It gives the slightly raised effect. But ordinary k1, p1 will look just as good in my opinion.

@Lunasa: thank you so much! That's what I thought I would do since I couldn't figure out the loop across. Your sweater is beautiful!

Hi Julie, I did my own version of the rib and did it back and front. I just used k1, p1. I did this until the rib measured 4 inches.

I used Rico Melange chunky, shade Berry Turquoise (09). Some of the balls had a burnt orange colour through them but I choose not to use too much of it. Its knitted size large as it wanted it extra snuggly.

Hi Margaret, The pattern has the large bottom rib knitted separately then attached. But I thought it easier not to do it this way. The sleeve cuffs have less ribbing than the pattern states.

Thank you for all the lovely comments. I have taken up knitting again after a few years absence and this is great encouragement. I adapted the pattern a little at the bottom and cuffs to suit me but enjoyed doing it.

This is a lovely project created by one of our makers here, but she is not the designer. There are a lovely range of patterns available in the larger sizes here http://www.loveknitting.com/knitting-patterns#?craft=9420&for_pattern=1956&language=20561
