I love to run, especially in cooler weather, but I really hate the pain that comes from cold ears in the wind. Then again, I sweat easily, and once I’ve hit my stride – well, too hot can be even worse than too cold!
Wrapped around your head and neck, this will keep you warm – but not sweaty – on winter excursions. The yarn, a smooth and bouncy cotton/wool blend, is perfect for activewear, and as you warm up you can lower the loop around your neck for a looser fit that still warms while allowing air to circulate. If even that gets too much, just drop it down into one long loop that won’t get in the way! Adding extra buttons gives you the option of fitting it more closely around just your neck and chin.
The loop is knitted using a double strand of Lang Classico; use the leftovers singly for Runaround Mitts (in a related, but not identical stitch pattern) to complete the set. You are unlikely to need more yarn than the 4 balls listed but may need less.
