SB2 - SuperBulky SnowBoarder Hat
This is a quick, warm, spunky hat that was inspired by Malabrigo's Rasta, though we have been making it up in many different super-bulky yarns with good success. It is a fun hat to knit and embellish, and I am hoping a fun hat to wear.
The hat is knit in seed stitch. Unless you are doing the version with the "random" vertical lines, you will knit on a purl and purl on a knit throughout. There is a slight pattern jog at the beginning of the round. The flaps are knit first, and then knit on to the hat. The hat uses centered double decreases at the top to maintain pattern and shape. The hat is edged in single crochet to give a smooth, even appearance.
When using a yarn this thick, gauge can significantly change the hat size. Change needle sizes as necessary to get the fit you want.
