This pattern was inspired by Amy Herzog's Fit to Flatter series. I wanted to take a basic shape and add a universally flattering element to it that could flatter a variety of shapes. I also wanted it to be a basic piece that could suit almost any wardrobe or occasion.
The top down construction allows you to adjust length or width to hit where your figure benefits most, and the center hourglass design draws the eye inward and creates a flattering silhouette. Since it's top down, sleeves also can be altered to hit where you like them. Lastly, buttons can draw the cardigan in at the top, the center, or the bottom. I've done it two ways here, the purple is shorter and looser through the body. The pink is according to the written pattern but feel free to make any adjustments.
The worsted yarn doesn't add bulk, matches almost anything, and lives in most of our stashes, right? I suggest either a solid, semi solid or heather so that the textured details stand out. Always check your gauge.
