Sigrun Holiday Hat 2008
Pattern for a three-colored colorwork knitted hat decorated with trees and braided edging.
This warm & festive holiday hat is knit in the round with worsted weight yarn & stranded colorwork. Latvian Braids are used as edging, and to separate the body of the hat from the flat crown.
Each of the 4 colorwork motifs is illustrated by a different
chart, with single-color, stockinette stitch increase & decrease rounds between them to give the appropriate number of stitches. Crown decreases are incorporated into the colorwork motif by using centered double decreases.
This pattern was written for Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Worsted, and the sample was knitted in Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Worsted. Classic Elite Jil Eaton Minnow Merino is listed as a substitute, but the pattern has not been tested for this yarn. In addition, the Classic Elite Jil Eaton Minnow Merino, Jade color is not as deep or dark as the original Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Worsted shade of green that was used in the sample.
