I first made these mittens ages ago in pure Guernsey Wool. They were bright red and lovely - but a bit too rough to wear. When I decided to make a remake this autumn I went for a soft and gorgeous alpaca wool from the eco-friendly and fair-trade wool Iló yarn, Bolivia. The result was stunning, and it came naturally to make a hat to match. The set is gorgeously soft and warm to wear - a pair to match your wintercoat either you stay in the countryside or in the city.
The mittens with the long cuff are ideal to keep the cold out, and the beanie has a splendid fit to make sure that no wind finds its way around the ears.
The knitting-instructions are easy to follow - both written and with a chart
