Description

Stash bust those yarn scraps with a slouchy hat. Hold a strand of DK weight together with fingering or lace weight to achieve some marled stripes. Seed stitch and marled stripes give the illusion of a woven fabric. Pick a few colors or dozens of scraps and just have some fun! The samples show one color of DK weight (royal blue or black) held together with wool, mohair, alpaca, and silk yarns. Apply little crochet stars and a pom pom to finish the Starry-Eyed Slouch.

Sample is modeled on a 22.5" / 57cm head. Needle size or yarn weight can be changed for a smaller or larger hat.

Shown in Orkney Angora St. Magnus D.K. held together with bits of lace and fingering weight yarns including mohair, alpaca, silk, and wool. Substitute Worsted weight yarn if you only want to use one strand of yarn.

A suggested yarn is shown below.
