Tarbolton boot toppers
"Tarbolton" is an oft-played reel during Irish traditional music sessions; it goes by many names - Cooleen Bridge, Paddy in the Cornfield, Droichead Na Cuilin, among others. The tune is thought to have its roots in Scotland (western Scotland being the home to the town of Tarbolton). Can't help tapping your toes to this merry tune!
This cabled boot topper is worked in the round from the top (cabled portion) down. The front and back of the boot topper are identical. Size S is shown in the photographs; larger sizes are created by adding additional modified Honeycomb cable columns at the side of the boot topper. Each size has its own charts / written directions. Bind off is 'in pattern'.
Both charts and written directions are provided.
A photo tutorial for the Estonian Cast On is included as a separate PDF.
