**Traverse** is a toasty hat for cold days with a subtle, interesting pattern. It is knit in the round using raised slip-stitch to showcase the **woolfolk yarn**; by working half the stitches in each row and then moving the graduation one stitch at a time, you create a beautiful herringbone effect. The knitted fabric is tight both horizontally and vertically, making a dense, warm, garment. Traverse can be worn slouchy, or you can fold the broad, snug brim back to wear it as a fitted cap.
