My Nan taught me to knit when I was about 5 or 6 but I didn't really do much until friends starting having children and I caught the bug. I hated sewing things up so my Mum would get bundles of pieces to sew together! She finished articles off perfectly. My children grew up, there was never time to knit and sew - sewing took precedent. I even got rid of all my patterns, needles, etc when we moved house.
Then grandchildren started coming along and I've retired and I've caught the bug again. Now there are so few shops - everything's online and Mum's not around to do my sewing up.....thank heavens for YouTube and why did she not teach me mattress stitch?
