Taught to knit and crochet around age 5 by my Nan over 45 years ago. Mastered crochet and made lots of doillies, dressing table sets, toys never from written patterns, only copying something already made or pictures. Knit more during my late teens/early 20's. but lost sight at 33 and presumed it was just something else I could not do. How wrong was I when I finally got the courage to pick up the knitting needles. Unfortunately, I can't master the intricate lace I used to do with crochet.
