I have just started to venture into the world of the more expensive yarns. That's why I like the loveknitting web site, it gives me a chance to try out the more expensive yarns that are on sale which doesn't cost an arm or a leg ( for example to make a sweater). I also crochet which I was taught at the age of 10 yrs by a sweet grandmotherly neighbor. She taught both my sister and I to crochet. She had the patience of a saint. She was so sweet and kind to us that my sister and I picked it up very fast and taught ourselves " to read a doily or whatever we wanted to make" before we graduated to the written pattern. What a gift that sweet woman gave to two little girls that summer. It has been a good memory to visit from time to time of my sister and I struggling to learn how to crochet and to learn how to control the tension of the thread with our small hands.
