Texas Hill Country, United States
I grew up on the back of Quarter Horses, the faster the better. I guess my mom and grandmothers thought I was a hopeless cause as this was during Kennedy's presidency. I was sent to a little girl's finishing school (oh brother!!) but what my Great grandmother taught me about needlework was what got my attention if I had to sit and be still! I still have some of her beautiful crochet. Crochet, intricate counted cross stitch of lifelike forms, whether wolves, people, etc., are where I turned during stressful times if II couldn't go ride and get lost with my horses and dog. I'm 56 with 5 grandchildren. I crochet all the time since I spent every moment I could riding, breaking and training horses. My body is paying for it but I have no regrets! Just a big smile and stories I tell my grandchildren they aren't allowed to tell their parents. (LOL!)
