Tamara C

map-pin Sydney, Australia

I am an Australian mum of 4 gorgeous kids, and a doctor in my spare time! My mum taught me to knit and crochet when I was very small. I crafted quite a lot as a child, and although I have knitted and crocheted on and off over the years, it is only in the last few years that I have been knitting and crocheting regularly - most days when I can. I find that it is like meditation - my “happy place” in my hectic life. I love making toys for my kids, and more recently I have been enjoying making lace shawls (sadly not needed very often in Sydney!). I tend to leave the making of the kids’ jumpers to Mum, who loves to knit jumpers for the grandkids, which gives me the chance to make things for me! I love making things that are a challenge and teach me new skills, and things that are a bit quirky. I prefer to knit with natural fibres - wool, cotton, alpaca, silk or a combination of these.
