Those stubby broken knitting needles and tiny balls of yarn which I played with must have made a huge impact on me from the age of three as I've barely put down my needles or hooks since then . Part of the joy of knitting and crocheting is the soft and squishy feel of good quality yarn in your hands as you trial a design and I love working with yarns such as merino and alpaca or a combination of both .
I had a gap in my career while our four children were born so I've never had to give up knitting . Now I'm enjoying knitting and crocheting for each new grand child and watching the older ones raid the tubs of beanies or scarves . Sometimes they put in “orders” for particular colours or styles or suggest names . I’ve paid tribute to my grandchildren , my mum and grandmothers in the names I've chosen for my designs as I get my inspiration from the past and present .
