I have been knitting off and on for over 50 years. My aunt taught me when I was a child and I just loved it. It's amazing how you can transform a piece of yarn into something beautiful using only a pair of needles. I love the process of knitting and completing a piece of work, either to be worn, displayed or a toy to be played with. I have a mega stash which grows weekly with lovely textures and colours waiting to be transformed into my next project. My favourite wool is merino, it's so soft, knits up well and usually can be machine washed (essential for children's wear). At the moment I'm knitting hats in different styles which are quick knits, but I have two large projects waiting to be started, the first an Aran jumper for my sister and second the Persian tiles blanket. The latter I will probably do in between other smaller projects.
