I'm a 30 something-year-old self-taught (with Youtube help) knitter/crocheter who started knitting again in June 2016 again after previously making one chunky scarf 10 years ago. I learned to crochet just prior by following HappyBerrys Mandala and Hanging Owl patterns, I really love them/her! ^-^V My favourite yarns are Hedgehog Fibres, Colinette, Madelinetosh, Countess Ablaze and Qing Fibres. I hope many more people young and old start knitting and see all the great patterns and designers out there to see, such as Stephen West (I love his "The Doodler"), Stephanie Dosen, Boo Knits, NoKnitSherlock and there's so many more..my list of favourites on Ravelry is bursting at the seams!! I also am fond of Japanese culture and have learnt katakana/hiragana some Kanji and to speak a little Japanese. It got me into anime, which has serious, impactful themes and beautiful artwork.
