Heather W

map-pin Magherafelt, United Kingdom

I learned how to knit as a child with my Auntie Margaret and at Primary school was taught how to crochet, making many family members and friends the toilet roll doll cover, but it wasn't until I got married I began to teach myself, with the help of my mother on the phone how to knit Aran projects. When my children were young I would have knit Care Bear and Disney inspired jumpers and cardigans for my children, but hung up my needles 20 years ago thinking I would never knit again. Then along came the grandchildren and I started to knit baby items, so much, so that I have knit quite a few litle hats and clothes for Tiny Life Charity and wee hats for RVH Maternity, Belfast. I am presently teaching my grand daughte,r who is seven, how to knit, so hopefully the art will not die out in our family. My other hobby would be caring for our 8 dogs and their puppies, we currently have four Scottish Terriers and four Standard Poodles with five Spoo puppies.
