I've been knitting since I was a child. I can't remember who taught me to knit but it was probably my Mum or Grandmother (or both). I have taught myself to knit more complex sticthes over the years (the Internet is a big help these days) but have never previously managed to master crotchet, until the recent lockdown! I love to knit small projects, such as baby clothes and accessories, as I get bored with adult projects. I just knit things and stash them away in case someone has a baby or needs a new hat. I rarely charge anyone for what I knit as they are usually presents or donations, but I will occasionally take on a commission.
In recent years knitting has been my life saver, keeping me sane during periods of work-related stress. I am a huge believer in the therapeutic power of knitting. Now I mainly knit (and now crochet, my new ‘lockdown’ skill) for my beloved granddaughter.
