I've been crocheting since I was 8, knitting since 12. My Grandma taught me to keep my hands out of mischief. That still works today. There is also a deep sense of satisfaction when you create something & a great joy when you can share it with the ones you love.
The winters are long here and it helps to have a project or two or four .... on the go.
