I learned to crochet when I was a child, five or six. Then 35 or so years later, I taught myself to knit, so I use many of my crochet habits when knitting. I'm right handed and maintain the yarn tension with my left hand, I pick or scoop the yarn with my right needle. This makes me a continental knitter; it's the ability to knit with the stitch sitting with either leg forward that makes me a combination knitter. Usually, I have multiple projects ongoing, which keeps me busy.
