Norma ("Jean")

map-pin United States

I love knitting socks (the most luxurious thing in the world is to have a pedicure and slip on a pair of beautiful handknit socks), projects in color work, and lace. I learned to knit thanks to my fifth-grade, public school teacher, Mrs. Wilkening. All of us, girls AND BOYS, learned to knit the basic garter stitch. I didn't realize it at the time, but she was PROGRESSIVE! I think she must have based our instruction on the Waldorf Schools theory. Unfortunately, I didn't keep knitting then, but about 12 years ago, I decided to pick it back up.
If you love socks, PLEASE read Pablo Neruda's "Ode to My Socks." It's magical!
